Sweden did not allow GDR citizens in

The Swedish news agency TT reported that about 20 GDR citizens were denied entry into Sweden when they arrived in the southern Swedish town of Trelleborg on a ferry from Saßnitz. The GDR citizens neither had passports nor visa, and none of them stated the wish to stay in Sweden as a fugitive. They had to travel back on the same ferry. A Swedish governemnt official said that Sweden had not yet decided if they wanted to follow Denmark's example and make travel for GDR citizens easier.
