Pope calls for GDR renewal
Pope John Paul II called upon GDR catholics to renew their
country together with "all people of good will, especially
the protestant Christians". In a message published in East
Berlin on the weekend, the Pope said that in these times of
deep rooted changes, he felt connected to
the people in Christian solidarity.
