Welcome money is here to stay

Despite the mass visits of GDR tourists, the Bonn government will not cease making DM 100 "welcome money" available to them once a year. The money will be taken from the funds of the ministry for inter-German relations. The DM 260 million planned for 1989 will not be sufficient. In the future, the welcome money does not have to be claimed during the first visit.
