Stasi offers self-criticism
The GDR security service wants to support the reforms
"with all its power". During a meeting of leading party
members, which was also attended by the security minister,
Wolfgang Herger, the "comrades of the 'Staatssicherheit'"
began to discuss their role "with great openness", "critical
and self-critical" and to "rethink the consequences for
their work arising from the renewal of socialism", reported
the news agency ADN.
