I have a Super Tower 3.5 foot high case with a 300 watt power supply. Do I have to throw them away and buy new to use a ATX motherboard?

You'll need an ATX case/power supply for an ATX motherboard; but you don't actually have to throw away the AT stuff. Allocate a large closet, or a small room, and begin piling up all of the computer hardware remnants from each upgrade. Soon you'll be supplying all of your family, friends and pets with computers and still have an expanding home LAN of your own. But be warned, eventually you'll be branded a 'computer geek'. You'll grow a beard and wear your hair in a pony tail, and you'll attend all of the local computer shows. You'll have subscribed to a least four computer related magazines, and will be required to have a large stack of computer related material on the seat of your car at any given time. You can keep some of your compscience text books and test equipment in the trunk. If your wife or girlfriend begins to get repulsed by your 'overindugence', don't worry. Start working out at the gym and take up some type of verile activity, such as motorcycle drag-racing and/or skydiving. There are also many effective medications available to help reduce obsessive-compulsive type tendencies. Or, you could just stick with the AT format. Most boards are available in both AT and ATX.

regards .. ;-)
