If you have a Red Hat 7 system, you can use the binary RPM packages. You always need the popular package. The popular-db2 and popular-db3 packages are optional, but you probably need one of them.

If you have a current Debian system, you can use the binary Debian-Packages. You always need the popular package. The popular-db2 package is optional, but you probably need it.

If you want to compile POPular yourself or don't have a Linux system, get the tar ball. POPular currently works on Linux and Solaris.
