The Bottle Contents

The numbers given in the "taste" section are not grades, but an attempt by a booklet ("The Classic Malts of Scotland") to express strength and flavour in one simple index - from 1 (very mild) to 3 (something for everyone) to 5 (very robust, rather for whisky lovers). The book is not an authority at all, it was simply the one I had available.

All prices are rounded to the nearest 5 € per litre, and based on the price of 0.7l or 1l bottles (even where I only used the 5cl miniatures which of course would lead to higher prices if you were to buy 20 of them).

The code letters A to Q have been assigned randomly.

Whiskies marked with an * had been opened a while before the test was conducted (as can be guessed from the photos). The results for these whiskies may thus have to be taken with a grain of salt, as the exposure to air may have had an effect on the taste.
